Parking Information

Beginning Friday, May 16, visiting guests may park in the Kaplan Arena parking lot, the Compton parking lot and the Parking Deck on Ukrop Way.

General Parking Restrictions

No parking is permitted at any time in the following areas:

Fire lanes
No Parking Zones
Jones Hall lot
Handicapped spaces (without proper permits)
"Reserved For" spaces
Meters at the Muscarelle Museum
"Official Vehicle" or Service/Vendor spaces
Grass and sidewalks (unless directed by a parking officer)

Pay attention to signage at all times related to no-parking areas. These regulations are enforced 7 days/week, 24 hours/day. Pay attention to all temporary signs related to parking restrictions on campus.

Parking Off Campus

Off-campus streets are controlled by the City of Williamsburg 24/7. Parallel parking is permitted in designated areas along Jamestown and Richmond roads on both Saturday and Sunday. Otherwise, city street parking is enforced via:

time limits

Visitors should pay attention to all campus and city signs related to parking restrictions.

Accessible Parking

Guests with limited mobility who display either an ADA tag or limited mobility access pass (provided electronically to the graduating student) will be permitted to drop off at the limited mobility entrance to Zable Stadium (good weather) or Kaplan Arena (weather plan).

The driver will then be directed to park as close as possible to the stadium or arena.
Due to high traffic volume, there may not be enough spaces to park immediately adjacent to the stadium or Arena.
Our Parking Services staff will do their best to direct you to the most convenient lot.
For additional convenience, there will also be limited mobility shuttles available from certain parking areas throughout campus.

Main Ceremony

Parking is on a first come, first served basis. Allow plenty of time and please be very aware of pedestrians.

For those without limited mobility, we recommend parking as close as possible to your final ceremony location for the day, in order to avoid traffic delays which tend to follow immediately after each ceremony.

Stadium Drive Parking Lot will be closed to general parking beginning at noon on Friday for main ceremony low mobility parking. Non-tagged vehicles are expected to clear the lot by 2 p.m.

Inclement Weather Only: If the main ceremony is moved indoors to Kaplan Arena, but the student Walk Across Campus is able to safely take place, traffic along Ukrop Way will be significantly slowed for up to 30 minutes beginning at approximately 5:30 p.m. Friday.
