Parking On Campus

Parking around campus can be difficult, even at the best of times. We strongly recommend that you allow extra time for driving and parking throughout the day. It is best to walk as much as possible.

We recommend parking at either the Kaplan Arena parking lot located on Compton Drive or at the parking deck located on Ukrop Way. Parking is also available behind Swem Library and at Zable Stadium. Parking assistants will be stationed throughout the area to assist you with parking and directions.

No parking is permitted at any time in the following areas:

  • Fire lanes
  • No parking zones
  • Accessible space (must have a proper permit)
  • "Reserved for" spaces
  • "Official vehicle" or service/vendor spaces
  • Grass or sidewalks
  • Jones Hall parking lot

Please remember that parking on off-campus streets (including Richmond Road) is controlled by the City of Williamsburg seven days/week, 24 hours/day. City street parking is enforced via color-coded decals. Do not park on streets that require residential decals. Visitors should pay attention to all campus and city signs related to parking restrictions.

Accessible Parking

Vehicles with any state-issued disabled license plate or placard may park in accessible spaces. These spaces are in various campus parking lots and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Refer to theaccessible parking map to locate areas around campus with accessible parking.

Shuttle Service

To ensure attendees can reach Kaplan Arena efficiently, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. shuttles will only pick up from the Sadler Center Parking Lot and the Parking Deck.

After 10:30 a.m. shuttles will run on a continuous loop serving Kaplan Arena, Parking Deck, Music Arts Center, Legacy Circle, Sadler Center and Alumni House until 5:30 p.m.
